Bio / Accomplishments

Hello everyone, I am Andrew “Attero” Golec. I was born in Montreal, Canada and am currently 23 years old.  I am fluently bilingual in English and French.  My gaming career involves mostly Counter-Strike and Starcraft. I have played both of them from when they were originally released (Starcraft Shareware) and Counter-Strike Beta. I have won events in Montreal but nothing really public and although I did qualify for Brood War WCG a couple times through the online qualifiers, I was unfortunately never able to attend. I received a Beta Key for Starcraft 2 and prior to receiving it I was referred to TeamLiquid to watch people play. I didn’t find any streams to my liking as I found that most of the players lacked skill. Therefore, my friend proposed to me to set up my own stream when I got the game. This launched Vyanta’s stream - the stream that brought you Attero, as well as his side-kick HuK. The team VT, which I was on, was regarded to be one of the best North American teams during the beta.

During the beta, I was regarded as one of the best Random players in the world.

For the launch of SC2 unfortunately, as my beta fans know well, I started my new career and was unable to play or stream as much as I was able to and could not participate or perform well in the tournaments I was able to play in. My most notable placement as Random was Top 16 in the EG Masters Cup, taking out iNka to qualify and losing to allaboutyou 2-1 in Ro16.

In November I decided as my time is limited to play Protoss.
