Bio / Accomplishments

Hey all, my name is Alex “ruxin” Hahnenfeld and I am a top grandmaster Zerg player for the last few seasons on North America. I am currently 21 years old and a student. I’ve played RTS games for a very long time, I started out playing Brood War when I was 11 years old, but then I wasn’t very good at it since I mostly played custom games, but it definitely helped me get a basic grasp on the mechanics required for the game. I then swapped over to Warcraft III where I basically did nothing but Ladder and considered myself decent at that. As soon as SCII came out, I’ve been playing it with a very competitive drive and have only wanted to improve. I’ve spent a lot of time analyzing my own replays and breaking down games from pro-players which helped me out the most to make my jump from a casual player to a high ranked grandmaster.  Currently I am not officially on any teams yet but I have a couple options I’m looking at and hopefully can announce soon.

My strategies and playstyle are very macro oriented, I feel like that’s my strongest point as a zerg player, but I do have a lot of very interesting and unique builds that even makes Catz’s play look standard. I am an avid fan of nydus worms along with baneling drops and will do anything I can to adapt my play to the current metagame. This year I plan on attending most the MLGs and some other tournaments so I can ideally put out good results and be the cause of some great open bracket upsets!
